Are the shelters by reservation only?
While our shelters and pavilions are open for public use on a first-come, first-served basis, we highly recommend making a reservation if you are planning an event or a large gathering. A reservation guarantees your spot and ensures you have the space you need for your group.
For Town Parks: Please contact the Evans Parks Department at (716) 549-0970 to check availability and fill out a permit.
For Herman Park (Village): Reservations can be made through the Village Hall at (716) 549-1126.
Are alternative picnic areas available if a shelter is rented during my visit?
Definitely! While our shelters are popular for reserved events, our town parks offer plenty of open green space and shaded areas perfect for a pop-up picnic. Many spots also feature individual picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the grounds that are available for anyone to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Just bring a blanket and your favorite snacks!
