On the  Home Page in the Quick Links Column Click on ONLINE DOG LICENSE RENEWAL.

The license can be renewed provided the rabies certificate on file with the Office of the Town Clerk is still valid for 31 or more days after the renewal.

If the Rabies Certificate is not valid for another 31 days from today or a new vaccine has been administered after the last time a license was purchased you must provide the Town Clerk’s Office with the updated Rabies Certificate.
This can be done by one of the following methods:
*dropping a copy of the certificate off in the Night Deposit Box located at the small entrance of the Town Hall on the right hand side of the brick wall
*drop a copy of the new certificate in the USPS Mail and mail it to the Town Clerk’s Office
*email a readable picture of the new rabies certificate to townclerk@townofevans.org

Once the Town Clerk’s Office receives the new rabies certificate the dog license record will be updated and then beginning 24 hours later you can renew the license by doing the following:
On the  Home Page of the Town’s website in the Quick Links Column – Click on ONLINE DOG LICENSE RENEWAL.

Quick Links green column on the Home Page and click on CURRENT TAX INFORMATION & ONLINE PAYMENT CENTER.

Both applicants must be present together and have the following with them:

Government Issued Raised Seal Birth Certificate, Government Issued ID or Passport
AND
If there are any prior marriages then the following must be provided:
Divorce Papers and/or Death Certificates for any and all prior marriages for however the marriage ended.

FEE: $40.00
Applicants need to come in a minimum of 24 hours before the ceremony and a maximum of 60 days before the ceremony.

Business hours for the issuance of Marriage Licenses:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am – 3pm   AND
Wednesday, from 9am – 4pm

Any dog 4 months of age or older must be licensed or younger in age if the puppy is caught running at large.

A current rabies certificate which is valid for at least 30 days from the date of the purchase of the license.
AND
If the dog is spayed or neutered then a a spay/neuter certificate is required in order to receive a license fee discount.

$15.00 if the spay/neuter certificate is submitted when licensing the dog.
$28.00 if the dog is unspayed/unneutered or if the spay/neuter certificate is not submitted when licensing the dog.

Discounts available:
$1.00 if the owner is 65 years of age or older (must provide copy of driver’s license)
$1.00 if the dog has been micro-chipped (must provide paperwork)

For your protection, the Town’s policy is not to accept payment over the phone.

New York State Real Property Tax Law § 925, provides as follows:

“Payment of taxes by mail, when enclosed in a postpaid wrapper (envelope) properly addressed to the appropriate collecting officer and deposited in a post office or official depository under the exclusive care and custody of the United State Post Office shall, upon deliver, be deemed to have been made to such officer on the date of the United State Postmark on such wrapper.  The provisions of this section shall not apply in the case of postmarks not made by the United States Post Office.  A postage meter postmark is not a postmark made by the United States Post Office and, therefore, is not within the provisions of Real Property Tax Law §925.  Payments cannot be deemed timely because of a postage meter mark date on an envelope containing a tax payment (Op. New York State Comptroller 69-170).

If taxes are not received until after the due date, they are not paid until after the due date unless they fall squarely within the provisions of § 925 of the Real Property Tax Law, and the interest must be added and collected.  No Town Officials or employees can waive the interest (Op. New York State Comptroller 68-626).

Tax bills and receipts can be printed from this website at no charge. Tax bills or receipts can also be obtained through the Town Clerk’s office, however there is a $2.00 charge for this service.

Tax payments cannot be accepted over the phone. See payment locations.

Credit  Cards are also accepted for payment at the Town Clerks office or through this website through the On-Line Tax Portal. A 2.45% CONVENIENCE FEES will be applied to Credit Cards.
E-checks are also accepted for payment through this website through the Online-Tax Portal with a $1.75 CONVENIENCE FEE.

Contact your bank immediately. Banks are required to request, in writing, all tax bills they are holding in escrow. They will give you instructions on how they want to handle it.

Yes! Per Erie County tax law 922.3: The failure to mail any such statement, or the failure of the addressee to receive the same, shall not in any way affect the validity of the taxes or interest prescribed by law with respect thereto.

Contact the Town Clerk’s Office immediately to confirm the mailing address is correct and that a bank has not requested your bill.

Tax bills are generally mailed out around the end of the second week of the month prior to the due date. Sometimes there are unforeseen situations that may delay the mailing of tax bills.

Yes! Partial payments are accepted in the office. Payments can be made in any amount and as often as desired as long as the tax bills are payable to this office. Penalty is added to the unpaid balance after the due date.

No, Partial payments can not be made online.

Town and County taxes are turned over to Erie County on July 1st and Payment must then be made to Erie County.

School taxes are turned over to Erie County on December 1st & Payment must then be made to Erie County.
Any School tax not paid by December 31st will be relevied to the following Town and County tax bill.
